Bazzaz Z-Fi TC (ECU+Traction Control)

The Bazzaz Z-Fi TC brings traction control technology into the hands of normal riders and racers.  The Z-Fi TC is the standard Z-Fi with the addition of Traction Control, hence the TC.  It also incorporates the Quick Shifter of the Z-Fi QS.  This is the full monte; all in one.

No external sensors are necessary because the Z-Fi QS does not monitor wheel speeds.  It works by monitoring the rising rate of the engine's RPM's (actually the "s" there is redundant).  If they rise too quickly, or spike, the unit views that as the rear wheel spinning out of control and cuts the power accordingly. 

This concept and technology is what Mat Mladin and Yoshimura Suzuki called Spin Control back in the days when Traction Control was illegal in AMA Superbike racing.  In fact, the Yosh boys still call it Spin Control because the signature aspect of Traction Control was/is defined as comparing the difference between front and rear wheel speeds.  This is the most accurate way to achieve traction control, but it requires wheel speed sensors.  These sensors are the heart of real traction control systems like those used in MotoGP, even those used back when Yosh and Mladin were employing "Spin Control."  No wheel speed sensors, no traction control... duh.

The Z-Fi TC's sensitivity levels (what rpm rising rate it will view as loosing traction) can be adjusted in two ways, on your computer or on the fly through the use of the optional handle bar mounted TC Adjuster Switch.  It's a dial from 0 to 10.  In general, as the tire wears out over the course of riding or racing, it will spin more easily and the units sensitivity needs to be adjusted to compensate for that.
